This is a research project over Hispanic holidays and traditions in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Students will learn about the history and activities reflective of important Hispanic holidays and traditions such as: Día de la Independencia de México, La Navidad, Semana Santa, Cinco de Mayo, El Bautizo, and La Boda.
This project includes a list of 20 important Hispanic holidays and traditions, an example project over La Quinceañera in English, a research project template in English and Spanish, and a grading rubric in English and Spanish. Research categories include: Photo, Date of Holiday/Tradition, Who Participates, History of Holiday/Tradition, How it’s celebrated Today, Typical Food and Drinks, and Activities.
This project may also be completed as an internet scavenger hunt using the internet in a computer lab, using a mobile lab, or by allowing students to use their own electronic devices. All of the research information over each Hispanic holiday and tradition listed can be found online at www.wikipedia.org. This is a great cultural activity when celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month, Hispanic culture, or Spanish holidays. Makes a great bulletin display!
