Product Description
Help history come alive in your classroom with presentations that won’t feel scary! Use this short project to help students practice basic research inquiry and speaking skills with choice and personal interest to boot.

First, students pick a historical artifact of their choice (from home, or other options). Then, they complete a graphic organizer to do light research on the item, the time/place it came from, its value, and its significance. Then, students do mini- presentations sharing the artifact and their findings.

This lesson would be great for…
• Adding variety to how you teach research skills
• Helping middle or early high school students get practice with speaking
• Talking about historical context, significance, and culture

This 5-page, 7-slide project includes:
• Student directions page and rubric
• Graphic organizer (and an example page!)
• A listening guide to help students take notes during other presentations
• A one-day PPT to help you explain the project
