Product Description
This activity integrates writing and social studies.

Students will pick a historical figure (or the whole class can do the one that you are studying at the time.) Each day write a specific type of sentence that relates to the historical figure.

For example, we studied Harriet Tubman:
-Interrogative: Write questions that you would ask Harriet Tumban.
-Exclamatory: Write exclamatory sentences you might have heard Harriet say.
-Declarative: Write facts you have learned about her.
-Imperative: Write commands Harriet might have used on the Underground Railroad.
-Compound: Summarize what you have learned about Harriet Tubman.

My 1st graders loved it!
