This resource was designed to help students understand how to improve their historical thinking and study skills. The notes and terms are focused on the Ohio American History Grade 10 State Learning standards. (Content Statement 2)
Begin with discussing the vocabulary terms, a blank sheet is provided if you would like your students to write out definitions or engage in another vocabulary strategy. The notes provided outline the difference between primary and secondary sources as well as how to determine if an source is credible. Included in the notes, is a guided notes handout for differentiation. There are also three Practice questions for review.
When paired with my free primary and secondary source lesson in my tpt store, this lesson brings such clarity to teachers in regards to if your students have mastered sources. I also have available in my tpt store the lesson titled, Determining Credibility. This lesson helps assess if students are able to determine the credibility of sources.
Overall, this lesson was perfect to present Content Statement 2 in the Ohio American History Grade 10 Standards.
