This resource is a worksheet to be used with a device that can read QR codes. It is ideally suited to use in the classroom with ipads that have a QR reading app installed.
The worksheet provides an opportunity for students to develop a basic understanding of Australia's early gold discoveries. It is a great activity to use at the beginning of a history unit which would then go on to talk the events of the Gold Rush. This worksheet gives students a good idea as to where early gold discoveries were found and develops a solid basis for further work.
Students scan the QR code to take them to a website where they can read about gold discoveries in Australia (3 pages) and complete the worksheet activities. This document also includes answers for the teacher.
This could even be given as a homework activity as many students have a device at home now which reads QR codes.
This activity was written to use with the new Australian Curriculum History K-10 Syllabus.
