"Heroes of the American Revolution" is a U.S. History / Reading minilesson on the War for Independence.It has a little over three pages of informational text about Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Peter Salem, Haym Salomon, and Molly Pitcher. The text summarizes the contribution of each hero towards victory in the American Revolution. A picture of each hero reinforces who each hero is. After the informational text there are twenty reading comprehension questions presented in three sections. The first ten are multiple choice questions (4 choices for each one). They assess finding details that were stated in the text. The next five questions assess drawing conclusions with students matching what was said (quotes) to the hero who said it. The final five questions have students matching five causes with five major effects of the American Revolution. In this final section, students are determining cause-effect relationships. The 8th page is the answer key. This product is on a word document that you can easily edit if necessary.
