This fill-in-the-blank 11 x 17 timeline activity is designed for middle school but can be used with high school students as well. It is an excellent way for students to summarize key events, ideas, people and movements in a simple one page layout that makes taking notes easy. My students found that the activity was an excellent tool for assessment review as well. The first 2 pages are to be printed, two-sided on 11 x17 paper for student use after reading the appropriate chapter or section on the Age of Revolutions. Students simply fill in the timeline blanks based on their reading and, then complete the critical thinking questions on the other side. The following two 11 x17 pages are a teacher key for both the timeline and critical thinking questions that can be used in a follow-up discussion to check for understanding!
