Meet the original Rosa Parks, the woman who refused to get off a streetcar way back in 1854! This fascinating podcasts discusses Elizabeth Jennings Graham: born into a middle class activist family, Elizabeth became a teacher before she was forcibly removed from a streetcar for being Black, sued the company, and won. Her actions and refusal to be silent about Black oppression desegregated other streetcar companies, and paved the way for other Black activism in her time.
This document includes:
-a link to the podcast itself, FREE to listen to online

I typically listen to the podcast with my students in class, so I can pause it to answer their questions. Then I email them a link to the quiz, which they take and then submit from home, or in the computer lab later that week so I can supervise them.
