One things middle school and high schoolers know is MUSIC. They hear it constantly and memorize lyrics on a daily basis without even knowing it. I wanted to take that interest level and learning and bring it into the classroom.
Now, I know this project has been done, but I finally did it with my kids from start to finish and it was AWESOME!!!!
The kids took complete ownership of the project and created masterpieces that far outreached my expectations. We set up a recording studio, gave them "studio time" and even offered a live concert at the end to bring it all together.
*In this lessons pack you will find the written lesson plan, detailed directions and rubric, generic sign up sheets and directions that WE followed to record in our studio. All attachments are in Word format in order to allow the purchaser to adjust historical topics and specifics to their teaching and school. This lesson can be used for ANY topic in almost any subject (I used it for a number of Post-Constitution topics).
(note: We used 3 tablets that I wrote a grant for to record and classroom laptops to play the music while they sang.)
