Description

This set of lessons is part of my History Through Music series. It is designed to utilize music as a catalyst for research and analysis of historical events and time periods.

The lessons in this unit are best suited for a Global or World History course, after students have been introduced to the concept of Communism and the revolutions in Russia and China.

In this unit:
Students will develop an understanding of the historical circumstances leading up to the actions of Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, and the Cuban Communist Revolution during the height of the Cold War era, using music, articles, videos, and worksheets to guide their studies of the events and people who shaped history.

They will also make connections to current events in Cuba.

Student assignments include:
* Lyric Analysis
* Vocabulary Definitions
* Charting of Causes, Events, and Effects of the Cuban Revolution
* Commemorative or Wanted Poster of a Revolutionary Leader
* Powerpoint/Slide Show Assignment Relevant to Modern Day Cuban Politics

I hope you find the lessons thorough and easy to use.
