Looking for a way to get your students excited about the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WWI, or WWII? Or are you looking for a connection between English and Social Studies? I've found a great way for students to take their love of technology and music to make a connection to the life of a soldier going into battle that even your most reluctant learners will take part in!
This fully-editable PowerPoint allows your students to show their understanding of the the war you are covering by them designing the color of an iPhone, selecting their background photo, creating a playlist that connects lyrics to the war you are studying, and allows them to demonstrate their knowledge through a writing activity. Kids love it!
Included is a template for students to use as well as a fully-completed example I created for the Revolutionary War that is also editable for you to select your own songs to use as examples if you'd like.
