Free for a limited time! In this activity students (in groups of two or three) will be given an envelope filled with scraps of paper which describe 14 major events from the history of astronomy. Their goal is to arrange these events from earliest occurring to most recent. This is a fun and easy way to introduce the history of astronomy because the students are physically manipulating and rearranging the information, learning from their mistakes and correcting themselves as you come around to check on their work. Included in this file is the template with the 14 events, the answer sheet, a makeup assignment for students who are absent, and a teacher guide sheet giving suggestions for how this activity can be run in your classroom.
Thanks for the download! I hope that these resources are helpful in your classroom and that both you and your students are able to enjoy them. Please be sure to leave feedback so that others can know what a great product this is. Thanks!
