This unique take on history will leave your students hungry and with an overall idea of how eras build upon one another. I use it at the start of the year and again at the end of the year to wrap everything up.
I use a ham sandwich, with plenty of pictures of the ingredients, to show students how we can't understand the whole of history without understanding all the eras and that we appreciate history much better when we have a larger context. This works well in helping to convince the student who loves modern history like WWII that they must also understand the Industrial Revolution and other eras.
Also included for quick assessments are a short answer question (posted at the end of the Power point) and a five question, very easy, True/False quiz (also posted at the end of the Power point). A key for grading, on the final slide, follows the True/False quiz.
Different eras include:
American and French Revolutions
The Past is a Blast
