In this game, students collect pollen and nectar and try to keep their hive alive. Each round of play, teams draw cards with a variety of scenarios their hive must face. For example, "Varroa mites invade your hive. Return 1/2 of your nectar and 1/2 of your pollen balls." Or some cards may encourage hive strength such as, "A field of sunflowers is blooming near your hive. Collect 1 cup of nectar and 4 pollen balls." This STEM-focused game is a great compliment to a science or exploratory class curriculum studying bees or perhaps colony collapse disorder.
