This is a fun formative evaluation. Students receive feedback and are given the opportunity to correct their work. The teacher is not bogged down by attempting to check everyone's papers at once. The activity allows for the students to only have two problems checked at a time. The teacher can then give immediate feedback and instruction. My students really enjoyed it. They loved the hole punch.
This activity covers solving problems using the Pythagorean theorem and its converse, finding the distance between two points and determining if three measurements create a right triangle.
