Project based learning to engage, support and challenge all students!
This project allows each student to work at their own pace, each task offers a challenge to ensure all students are being taught at their point of need. I use FLIP videos when teaching PBL that I make using the App Explain Everything.
Working in groups students will construct their own hole for a class golf course. This is a great way to use Maker Space time teaching students how to use tools and be hands on in their learning. You could of course just make the hole out of cardboard.
Each hole design must include:
- paralle lines
- perpendicular lines
- a pyramid or prisim
- a triangle
- an obtuse angle
- an acute angle
- A rhombus, parallelogram, trapezium and circle
Math to explore and calculate include:
- 3d shapes
- scale drawings
These are also the topics for workshops you can hold during class time.
This project is a lot of fun, the kids are really engaged and it teaches them real life skills as well as Math.
