This end of novel project is based on the Newbery Award winning book Holes by Louis Sachar. Students will create a four part "quadrama" that focuses on key skills that are associated with fictional literature such as:
- Tracing plot elements
- Examining subplots and connections between flashbacks and the current plot
- Internal and external character traits
- Conflict development
- Finding key topics and themes
- Rating and recommending the book using supporting evidence
If you are looking for a hands-on project that allows students to work with literary elements, this is a great assessment for kids to get involved in the creative process!
