This is a complete ready-to-go set of questions (463) to use when studying the novel Holes by Louis Sachar.
These questions focus on reading and BASIC FACT-FINDING. I developed this set of questions for use with weaker and EAL students. For a bit of variety, I have included a few cloze type questions and chapter summaries.
I usually give each student a copy of the questions when we begin the novel, and then use as homework, classwork etc.. It gives students a chance to show off their reading of the novel. Students seem to love this routine.
Students could write the answers, or if they have read chapters independently, the questions can be asked orally to ensure understanding.
There are 463 questions in total. It's a 16 page student handout, in Word format, so editable to suit your class. The 19 page answer key is also included. I have not included spaces for students to write on the worksheet because I find this very wasteful of paper, and I think this limits their answers. (Many students base their answers on how much space is available).
The preview file contains the questions and answer key for the first four chapters. Even if you don't purchase my product, the preview file will give you a useful start to your study of this great novel.
