This is one of my favorite holiday activities. Let's face it...kids watch the Holiday specials every year and are quite familiar with the characters. So, why not have them use this knowledge to improve the descriptive writing skills?
First, the students get to fill in a fun character map for the characters describing physical and emotional details.
Then, they get to take these details and write a story about the characters using the descriptions and write a funny story about the character - one in which the public is not well aware of.
This can be put together in a booklet (you could use fun holiday ribbon or yarn) or you could pick and choose your characters.
There are 16 pdf pages which includes a character map page and a matching blank story page for each of the following characters:
Prep and Landings Wayne and Lanny
Frosty the Snowman
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
The boy from the Polar Express
Charlie Brown and Snoopy
