This activity walks students through the process of creating a brochure about a holiday- or winter-themed destination of their choosing. Students are guided through selecting a location to write about (favorite family vacation spot? special winter activity location?), researching detailed information about this location, and designing a travel-style brochure describing the destination.
This product was developed with the intention of students creating their brochures with digital technology (I use Lucidpress) so it does mention fonts--but it could be used for non-digital creations as well as no specific platforms are mentioned.

I like to have a variety of travel brochures on hand to show students examples before having them create, but many design programs have templates that serve this purpose as well. Teaching duration could be 1-2 weeks depending on how much time is required for research, learning the software used, etc.
This is a great way to combine a bit of persuasive and expository writing on a topic sure to be on students' minds before winter break!
