This unit utilizes the book Horrible Harry and the Holidaze to learn about various holidays, cultures, customs, symbols, and traditions. Throughout this unit your students will explore Three Kings’ Day, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Korean New year, Chinese New Year, & Christmas.

I LOVE teaching reading and I feel that by incorporating “Holidays” into my daily reading plans I can engage my students while still teaching reading skills, strategies, and the common core standards.
