You can build readers all year long while laughing at silly character disguises! Your children will love disguising a turkey, Santa, and the Easter Bunny! You can get all three of our emergent reader/disguise a character sets: "Where Is My Turkey?" "Where Is Santa?" and "Have You Seen the Easter Bunny?" in a bundle!
There are two readers in the 45 page "Where Is My Turkey" set: "Where Is My Turkey?" (level C-D) contains two lines of text on a page, and the sight words: where, is, my, the, said, not, a, an. "Did You See My Turkey?" (level A-B) contains one line of text, and the sight words: did, you, see, my, I, am, not. There is an option for students to provide the ending to the story. You can graph students' favorite disguises, too!
In the 56 page "Where Is Santa?" set, you'll receive "Where Is Santa?" a level C-D reader containing two lines of text on a page, and the sight words: where, is, the, little, boy, said, you, are, not. "Are You Santa? (level A-B) contains one line of text, and the sight words: are, you, not.
"Have You Seen the Easter Bunny?" is a 57 page packet containing two emergent readers: "Have You Seen the Easter Bunny?” (level C-D) contains two lines of text on a page, and the sight words: have, you, seen, the, I, am, not, the, little, girl. "Is It the Easter Bunny?" (level A-B) contains one line of text, and the sight words: is, it, the, not.
Children will develop fluency and expression through engaging, repetitive and predictable text as they enjoy the stories. You can even have children act out the roles of the holiday character and human (farmer, boy, or girl) as they read!
The disguise project will provide a creative and cooperative homeside connection to each of the texts. Boys and girls will happily create disguises for the holiday characters! Tie this into your math lessons by completing a graph of your students' favorite disguises from the book!
The black and white versions of the story are formatted for quick, no-fuss assembly. You will have two books from printing the complete story once. (The top and bottom of each page are the same.) Use the color version for your classroom whiteboard, or create a book for your classroom library!
