This homophone lesson is now in POWERPOINT! Students will have fun choosing a pair of homophones that completes each sentence. It begins with students determining which word in the sentence is a homophone to another word that would complete the sentence correctly. It then moves on to a more challenging activity as students will need to determine a pair of homophones to complete each sentence without any hints. Holiday graphics make the lesson fun and engaging. Homophone pairs include: your, you're, their, there, they're, steel, steal, male, mail, oar, ore, chews, choose, build, billed, wrap, rap, sweet, suite, crews, cruise, hall, haul, pole, poll, some, sum, ferry, fairy. This lesson is also available in interactive SMARTboard form. This lesson would be challenging for younger students (2nd grade) and might require some teacher assistance, but what a great way to increase students' vocabulary. Great for practice, introduction, or remediation.
