Looking for an activity to contain the chaos of your beginning language students for those last few hours before Winter Break?? If so, this numbers practice is perfect for you! It is adaptable to YOUR language...just read the numbers in your target language and you're good to go!
This file contains two activities:
1) a teacher-led listening comprehension activity where students attempt to complete a holiday themed dot-to-dot (reindeer) by listening to the numbers in the order you read them. They don't go in numeric order, so students really have to listen, which makes this a great review of numbers 1-100.
2) a student-led informational gap activity to be completed in pairs. One student reads their list of numbers in the target language, while the other student follows along to complete the puzzle...then they switch roles, making this both a listening and speaking activity. My French students struggle most with numbers 60-100, so they focus on these numbers for this part of the activity.
An answer key is included for all three puzzles and in my experience, students stay engaged and QUIET for these activities...a welcome respite right before break when energy is high!
