A fun and engaging project to tie in ratios with tasty treats!
I use this project before winter break and involve students and their families. Students will create a tasty treat while using measurement, ratios and unit rates! The recipe creates one serving of the ever popular "Puppy Chow" treat that they can enjoy after they complete the project.
Parents will usually donate the ingredients (Chex cereal, chocolate chips, powdered sugar, butter and ziploc bags) and I invite them to come help their student complete the project.
This project pack includes:
- Station signs to display ingredients
- Recipe signs with full instructions
- Project instructions
- Ratios WS aligned to recipe
- Reflection half sheet
Use this project as a culmination to your ratio or unit, or as a fun activity during those days before winter break!
