An Elemental Holiday is a fun way to have a mini-study on the elements of the periodic table, all while keeping the holiday spirit alive! This activity includes a PDF Google Slides presentation of the lesson and the printable handout. Students will explore the periodic table in their own creative way as they choose an element and create a holiday ornament that reflects the element's various properties and characteristics. The "ornaments" are made from a paper cut-out, so there are NO outside materials needed for this activity (besides some coloring materials and possibly internet access).
When the ornaments are finished, use them to decorate your classroom, a tree, or have your students take them home!
- Coloring materials.
- String or ribbon (for hanging the ornaments once finished).
- Internet access or other resource for information on the periodic table.
- Projector - if you wish to display the PDF lesson that is included.
