Get in the holiday and graphing spirit with this set of 32 differentiated task cards. These cards will challenge students to analyze coordinate grids and answer higher level thinking questions about them in a fun and holiday centered way!
Students will be asked to graph ordered pairs in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane that come from real-world problems or patterns found in input-output tables.
They will also describe attributes of the coordinate plane (x and y axis, origin) and describe the process for graphing ordered pairs and moving from one to another using terms such as: add/subtract ___ units from the x-axis/y-axis.
This document can be used for small group, intervention, review for tests, homework assignments, centers, SCOOT game, etc. Recording sheet and answer key provided for student self-check or teacher quick-check.
This document is aligned to Texas Standards: 5.8A, 5.8B, and 5.8C along with Common Core Standards: 5.G.A.1 & 5.G.A.2
Students will be asked to:
Name ordered pairs on a coordinate grid
Find ordered pairs that pass through lines and/or shapes
Create an input/output table that correspond to points on a graph
Graph points from an input/output table
Find rules and continue patterns from input/output tables
Give directions on how to move from one coordinate to another
