In these 16 questions, students will practice writing linear equations in point-slope (1 problem), slope-intercept (7problems), and standard form (4 problems). Students will be given a slope and point, two points where they have to first find the slope and then find the y-intercept, one problem where they’re given both the x- and y-intercept and they have to write an equation. Students must also understand what the origin means. Several problems include practice with adding/subtracting fractions. Students must also know how to write equations of a vertical and horizontal line and understand how to find the slope of a line parallel to and perpendicular to another line.
After completing this activity students will be able to:
•Write linear equations given slope and y-intercept, two points, one point and the slope, and both intercepts
•Write the equation of a line parallel and perpendicular to a given line
•Write the equation of a vertical and horizontal line
