The past month has been great for the Visual Dictionary, almost 100 downloads. We are so excited about all of the students that are using the visual dictionary!
The students will learn five national holidays in order of occurrence, starting with Presidents Day. The five holidays are as follows; Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving. The visual dictionary will be used to give the students a mental picture to associate with the holiday. Next to these pictures are dictionary definitions as well as descriptions that the children may have experienced. An example of this is that under Independence Day, it is mentioned about how fireworks are popped on this day, creating a connection between the holiday and a previous memory the child can recall.
