This is a fun alternate to the traditional book report that I use with my students. Students design and describe a Hollywood blockbuster based on their novel. They select their cast, their filming locations, a film rating, etc. This project allows students to incorporate an incredible amount of creativity, while still maintaining Common Core rigor (all decisions on movie must be supported with text-based evidence!).
This project could be easily adapted to work with any age as well as any novel. Rubric is included, as well as direction and examples for students. I allow students to use their strengths for bonus points. Some actually create abbreviated scripts! Some act out scenes, etc. Happy Teaching!
