Research shows that homework is not an effective influence on student success. Yet how can we provide families with an opportunity to work with their children on valuable skills?
Home connections are designed to be a brief check-in between families and students, to help them see how their child is doing with the skills being taught in the classroom. Each week, send home a new Home Connection focusing on a different skill. Families will check off how their child is doing. It's a great way to communicate classroom expectations without loading families down with busy work.
