Product Description
This lesson combines microscope skills and the characteristics of life in one lessons. Students look at living and nonliving yeast cells under a microscope and compare how they respond to the presence of a dye (congo red or methylene blue). Living cells prevent the dye from passing through their cell membrane and remain clear while the interior of nonliving cells clearly appear to be colored.
