Objectives: Compare and contrast passive and active transport. Predict the movement of molecules (including water) across a semipermeable membrane.

1. Students create a 3D pyramid from handout.
2. Students watch a 7:48 video on cell membranes and cell transport.
3. Students draw and label a phospholipid layer with channel proteins on the back of their worksheet.
4. Students analyze diagrams on active and passive transport, explain their reasoning, and predict the movement of water molecules through a cell membrane.

Answer key is shown in the preview file. This file prints fine in black and white.
