This anticipation guide is designed for students to complete and discuss before reading Homer's The Odyssey to get them thinking about the major themes and conflicts.

It includes 20 statements; students should rank each one from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). Then, students have space to explain their opinions for three statements of their choice.

Example statements: All's fair in love and war; revenge is sweet; real men don't cry.

You can also choose to use this anticipation guide to spark class discussion or debate.
