Home Types from around the world
A resource and activity packet teaching students the different types of homes other children may live in.
This packet includes:
1. Teacher information:
Posters of different homes with information about that home:
Who lives in this type of home and why?
How many people can live in this type of home?
What type of environment would this home be in?
What type of material is needed to build this home?
Have you ever lived in this type of home?
Would you like to live in this type of home? Why or why not?
2. Journals: Writing activity for students to write about the different homes.
~ Students will write about each home structure and why that particular structure is important to the area it was built.
~ Students will color the home type and draw the home’s immediate environment.
3 Students will write and draw about the house they live in and compare their home to the other houses they are learning about. (Include Venn diagram)
4. Students will create a new type of house and tell what environment (climate, location, resources, etc.) that houses will be built for.
