This product can be copied front-to-back and kept inside students' homework folders for them to be responsible for their homework.
There are 5 months on each page, Monday-Friday. If students do not turn in their homework when it is due they must color in that day. This is a great visual for students to see how often they are not completing their homework, as well as for parents to see if necessary. It is also a great confidence booster for those who do complete their homework everyday. It keeps your students accountable for their work, gives you another source of a paper trail, and can be used at conferences.
I've also included a second version of the back page in case your school year goes until June. If your school year goes from August - May print pages 1 and 2. If your school year goes from August-June print pages 1 and 3.
*Students could set goals for themselves. For example, in August maybe they didn't complete four days worth of homework so in September their goal is to have three or less days of missing homework.
*Put this document in a plastic sleeve and attach to students' folders. That way it lasts longer and stays in one place.
*Have parents initial the last day of each month so they are aware of their child's homework behavior.
*Have a goal at the end of the year for students who complete their homework regularly. For example, if students color in less than 5 days for the whole school year they get a prize at the end. This way it keeps the interest for both types of students.
