This is an outstanding two-page resource that provides precise support for both parents and your students with homework. Every teacher would benefit from having these resources as part of their repertoire. The first page is a Homework Contract. The contract identifies behavior statements that need to be achieved in order for the child to be successful at doing their h/w. The second page is designed to be given to parents who need help/advice on how to support their child with their homework. It walks parents through 3-4 steps and how best to set up, support, and intervene (if needed), and review during a h/w session. Both these sheets are best given out at the beginning of the year or at a back to school night. Additionally, these sheets can be given on demand to students who struggle with organizing their h/w routines, or as advice to parents at a conference as as simple attachment to an email when a parent asks the question - How can I help my child with my H/W?
Check out my package - Back to School Resources - that contains some superb handouts that can be given to parents (coming soon)
