Product Description
This whole year homework product was designed to weave many skills together: speaking, listening, reading & writing. The weekly assignments require each student to WRITE answers to specific questions and SHARE their answers orally to their classmates. As the year progresses, the classroom community is enriched by information shared by each child. The answers to their assignments are varied because they reflect each student’s own response. They connect writing with many of the Kindergarten reading and math skills. Seasonal themes and concepts are used such as leaves, pumpkins, family, friends, and MORE!

This homework product was designed to replace the traditional “rooting around in my closet ‘cuz it is my share day at school” AND target Kindergarten Common Core skills.
The beginning assignments have key sight words targeted with additional word & picture cards for parents to use at home with their child. These activities are engaging and parents will enjoy building sentences and practicing beginning literacy skills with their beginning readers!

Some Common Core Connections include:
W.K.2 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to compose informative/explanatory texts in which they name what they are writing about and supply some information about the topic. W.K.8 With guidance and support from adults, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.
RF.K.1.a Follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page.
RF.K.1.b Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters.
RF.K.1.c Understand that words are separated by spaces in print.
