PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Assigning homework is a long-standing practice in education which began when
behavioral views of teaching and learning dominated education and the focus was
on basic skills that could be strengthened with drills. As a new teacher, I initially established my homework policy based on what my colleagues were doing. However,
different viewpoints about homework have surfaced, which have caused me to question
the necessity of assigning homework. What are the benefits of homework? Do
the benefits outweigh the sometimes-negative effects? I now realize that there are
pitfalls and promises to homework that every teacher should consider.
