This is a self evaluation rubric that students in my classroom use weekly to evaluate their performance on our weekly spelling activities. They choose one activity per night off my quad 4 spelling task activity grid and then score themselves. One advantage of the rubric is they must choose a writing activity to score anything above a 1 on part of the rubric. I then score over their score and they get a percentage based on 12 total points. I deduct ten points if the rubric is missing. It helps them challenge their approach and evaluate their own work. This could also be used for many other assignments beyond spelling homework.
