This activity has students sort examples of mixtures into groups of homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures. Kinesthetic learners, SPED students, and ELL students especially benefit from this sorting activity because they physically group the mixture examples, which have both words and pictures. After students sort the pictures they record their answers on the worksheet and answer questions about mixtures in sentences. The students can work individually or in small groups to complete this activity.
This resource contains twenty cards, teacher information pages, a student worksheet, and a key.
This card sort can be purchased alone but is also part of two different discounted packages.
The
Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Mixtures PACKAGE comes with activities, two INB pages, an editable PowerPoint, worksheets, and an exit ticket. The
Physical Science Card Sorting Activity PACKAGE comes with this activity and three other card sorting activities.
