Homograph Boom Cards:
Homographs are words that have more than one meaning. Often these meanings are very different and confusing to students. This deck offers 16 homographs. Each card has one word and 4 pictures. The student must choose the 2 or 3 pictures that reflect the different meanings of those pictures.
This practice is especially helpful for new English learners.
1. Write 2 sentences for each word that reflect the different meanings.
2. Write the definition for each picture.
3. At the end of the sentences in #1, name the part of speech that is reflected by that usage of the word.
Example: I fly high on my swing. ( fly is a verb).
Boom Cards play on modern browsers (released in the last three years) on interactive whiteboards, computers and tablets. Boom Cards apps are also available. Not sure your browser is modern enough?
