The answers to this puzzle are pairs of homophones beginning with A, B, or C. In parentheses after each clue is the clue number of that homophone's partner. For example, the number after 5 Across "Workers on ships" is (1D). The number after 1 Down "To travel on water" is (5A). This means that 5 Across and 1 Down are homophones. The answer to 5 Across is crews, and the answer to 12 Down is cruise--homophones! Students won't know all the answers, but they can use one homophone to help solve the other. A fun spelling workout and a very unique approach to homophones!
