The answers to this puzzle are pairs of homophones beginning with G, H, I, or J. In parentheses after each clue is the clue number of that homophone's partner. For example, clue 7 Across and clue 4 Down are homophones. Clue 7 Across reads like this: INCREASED IN HEIGHT (4D). Clue 4 Down reads like this: LOW MOANING SOUND(7A). The answer to 7A is GROWN; the answer to 4D is GROAN--homophones! Students won't know all the answers, but they can use one homophone to help solve the other. A fun spelling workout and a very unique approach to learning homophones!
