The answers to this puzzle are pairs of homophones starting with S or T. In parentheses after each clue is the clue number of that homophone's partner. For example, clue 4 Across and clue 5 Down are homophones. Clue 4 Across reads like this: WHAT THE TEACHER DID(5D). Clue 12 Down reads like this: TIGHT, AS IN A LENGTH OF ROPE (4A). The answer to 4A is TAUGHT; the answer to 5D is TAUT--homophones! Students won't know all the answers, but they can use one homophone to help solve the other.
