I start this unit by reading Dear Deer by Gene Barretta. It is a such a fun book, and the kids laugh as they discover homophones. It is a very
educational and fun way to introduce the concept of homophones.
After the book we brainstorm as a class a list of different homophones.
Then we make these fun homophone posters/class book. You can run each page on white construction paper and give each student a different one to draw. You can display individually in the hall or put them together to make a class book. This is a class project I do every year, and the students love it! I
included an empty page just in case you want to make one with a different
homophone, but I have included 25 kid friendly homophones to choose from. If you have any questions or
suggestions, let me know.
Thanks for your purchase!
