An important concept for students to learn about is homophones. In this packet, the concept of homophones is defined, and then students practice this concept through several activities. A word bank is provided for the students in the first part, and they have to write the correct word next to its definition. The second activity asks students to choose the proper word for each sentence. The third activity provides the students with a sentence, and they need to circle the correct definition of the underlined word. The fourth activity asks students to draw a picture of a few of the homophones. The final activity allows students to choose any 5 words from the word bank. For each these 5 words, the students need to write a definition in their own words, as well as a sentence. A challenge activity is also included in this packet. The students are challenged to think of more homophones that are not included in the word bank. After writing the pair of homophones, the students are asked to write the definition and a sentence for each of the words.
