This homophones activity pack includes over thirty sets of homophone word cards (I got carried away. It’s fun!), a recording page to sort and write sets of homophones, a handwriting page to write sentences with homophones, read and write the room recording pages, and worksheets that challenge the correct usage of some of the most commonly confused homophones.
These activities are ideal for use in small group settings: guided reading groups, literacy work stations, and RTI/TSS remediation or enrichment. There are enough homophone word sets for multiply small groups to share and rotate.
Have your young learners play a game of Memory Match to group homophones in pairs or threes. Each partner in the group will record all the matches made by the group. Then each member will write sentences with some of the homophones. They may discuss the sentences that can be made, but ultimately they will write sentences using their individual complete thoughts.
Have fun teaching and learning!
