This engaging bundle of Pirate Queen treasure provides a variety of activities to help students use confusing homophones. Plus it saves you TIME and MONEY! Included are three units for the following homophones:
Within each unit you will find two interactive slideshows; one is savable while the other is a read-only to protect the clip art. In addition each unit provides Sorts and Editing Activities. The latter you may opt to use as an assessment. Although aligned to 4th grade Common Core standards, these units will benefit students in Grades 3 or 5.
The PowerPoint introduces each homophone with a sample sentence, an illustration, and definition. Students are required to take note cards for each homophone to use as references for additional activities. The slideshow also includes an interactive activity and additional partner practice. In addition, teaching tips are included as comments on the slides.
Also there is a Homophone Sentence Sort in which students must decide which homophone should be used to complete the sentence. A final activity is an editing exercise. Students draw a line through incorrectly used homophones and write the correct one above the wrong homophone.
