Homophones book is such a fun homophones activity that your students will adore! This little homophones book includes 9 different sets of homophones (18 words total): blue/blew, see/sea, sail/sale, pair/pear, mail/male, one/won, sun/son, ant/aunt, and write/right. The books are really easy to make - just fold and staple - no cutting required! Each time you turn the page, there will be a set of homophones side by side ("sun" on the left, "son" on the right) so it's a great visual for kids!
Each set of homophones should be displayed when you open the book. For example, blue will be on the left side and blew will be on the right side. Directions are included. Students color the pictures and write a sentence using each homophone. This really helps with understanding because they have the picture reinforcement to remind them which meaning that particular spelling of the homophone is and then has them apply it by writing a sentence. It's perfect practice!
These make a great literacy station - just set out the books and they can get started right away.
I also added blank pages you can print to add more words if you want to include your own homophones! Print as many as you need to add words :)
